2 The advertised speeds are the maximum access service speed describes the theoretical maximum speed attainable by the Superloop Installed Antenna (modem) at the highest transmission rate of the wireless network made possible by the technology. The maximum theoretical speeds should not be relied upon in making a purchasing decision. Real world usage is unlikely to consistently achieve such speeds, due to the factors described above. General Information

Fixed Wireless is the term used to describe an internet service which is fixed to a physical location (as opposed to mobile wireless broadband that you would get on your mobile phone or a mobile broadband device), similar to other fixed internet technologies such as ADSL, Hybrid Fibre Coaxial, or NBN, but instead uses wireless radio to deliver an internet service to the premises instead of using cables.

Superloop fixed wireless uses point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless radio technology. The connection requires clear line of sight between your home or business to a nearby Superloop radio tower. If the line of sight isn’t obstructed by trees, buildings, or any other tall structure, we can deliver a high-speed internet connection to the premises.

A radio antenna and dish is installed on your roof and is aimed in the direction of a nearby Superloop radio tower. A typical standard installation involves running a data cable from the antenna to a data socket installed within the premises. A Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) device is connected to this socket to keep the antenna powered and will provide an internet connection to your local network; such as a standard home wifi router.

The infrastructure is configured to provide these speeds with Superloop’s own network. Actual speeds online will vary with internet traffic, servers and routers and is not within the control of Superloop.

If you exceed your allocated quota your service will be shaped to 512K until the end of your current billing period. To return to full speed users have the option to purchase Data Blocks and will be unshaped instantly.

Superloop Fixed Wireless connection speed tiers:

Fixed Wireless 30/5 - Typical evening download speed 26.5 Mbps

Fixed Wireless 50/5 - Typical evening download speed 43.8 Mbps

Fixed Wireless 200/200 - Typical evening download speed 150.0 Mbps

Factors that affect speed include: extreme weather conditions, signal strength, signal quality, and/or possible interference, obstruction of the antenna's line-of-sight to the tower and radio capacity on the tower.

Millimetre wave, or mmWave technology refers to a band of extremely high frequency radio signal range between 30 and 300 GHz. The higher frequency of mmWave offers a lot of capacity and bandwidth over a shorter range. The mmWave cells broadcast a signal up to a few hundred metres from Superloop’s own base stations which enables less congestion, immense bandwidth, and awesome data speed.

Fixed Wireless is a way of providing wireless connectivity through radio links between two fixed points. Traditional fixed wireless does not provide symmetrical upload speeds, whereas mmWave allows for equally fast upload and download speeds. South Australian customers can now receive the bandwidth required to support high-definition streaming services, twitch-response gaming, and high-speed internet access.
